Master plan steering committee to be created

The creation of a steering committee of 11 people to study the cost effectiveness of a master plan for Eunice was approved Tuesday by aldermen.
Alderman Marion “Nootsie” Sattler said the committee would provide progress reports back to the council on a periodic basis in his motion.

Aldermen OK gas rate hike; Wal-Mart resolution

A Walmart Neighborhood Market Store is planned for the northeast corner of St. Mary and U.S. 190. The site is to be annexed into the city of Eunice. (Photo by Harlan Kirgan)

A $3 increase in the basic natural gas rate charge was approved by Eunice aldermen Tuesday night without any public comment.
The increase is on the first 1,000 cubic feet of gas.
