The story about a July theft at the St. Landry Parish Animal control Office in Opelousas refuses to go away. 
That it won’t go away is mostly due to Pam Gautreau, District 8 Parish Council member.

The St. Landry Parish Home Rule Charter, which took effect in 2004, banned Parish Council members from day-to-day operations.
The council members are relegated to legislative duties.

$400M, 13M barrel oil storage, blending facility announced

A $400 million crude oil storage and blending facility was announced for St. Landry Parish Wednesday at the Delta Grand Theater in Opelousas.
