Bayou Teche kayak, canoe racers to use GPS

Tour du Teche is putting on two new ultra marathons, Tour de la Rivière Rouge, 275 miles from Shreveport-Bossier City to Port Barre, and the 410 de Louisiane, 410 miles from Shreveport-Bossier City to Berwick, near Morgan City.

Hog hunters enlist GPS to track dogs

The town of Eunice has long been synonymous with The Purple Peacock, with generations of dancers hitting the night spot from the late 1960s until as recently as last Christmas.

Ten years ago today Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas a matter of days strengthened to a Category 5 storm in the Gulf of Mexico.
The huge storm made landfall on Aug. 29 as Category 3.

Former Eunice Mayor Curtis Joubert, who established tourism in Eunice, was honored Friday by the Cajun French Music Association with its Pioneer Award during ceremony Friday at the Rayne Civic Center.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
