The following are arrests by Eunice police.
Aug. 20
Quintin Mouton, 32, 300 block of Acadia Street, Eunice. Money warrant for domestic abuse battery.
Sparkle Anderson, 28, 400 block of Mayers, Eunice. Money warrant on original charge of theft by shoplifting.

Alligator snapping turtles released into wild

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is working to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the recreational harvest of alligator snapping turtles by keeping the reptiles off the Endangered Species list.

More than 25 members of the Louisiana Crafts Guild will display their wares at the Experience Louisiana Festival, and guild president Miles Peterson is organizing the event’s Craft Village.

As the last of about 60 boats left Leonville on Bayou Teche for a daylong procession to St. Martinville excitement seemed to linger among those left behind about a Saturday morning that began with a Mass led by Bishop Glen John Provost of the Diocese of Lafayette.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
