Just as few voters are paying attention to the gubernatorial campaign today as there were in March, according to a new survey sponsored by the Manship School of Mass Communication’s Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs, and conducted by LSU’s Public Policy Research Lab, or PPRL.

Former state Rep. Damon Baldone attempted to change his party affiliation to both Democrat and Republican — a dual registration — on Monday morning with the Terrebonne Parish Registrar of Voters, but was refused and he is now taking the matter to court.

Eunice police arrested the following people.

Jessica Loera, 25, 1100 block of Easy St.,, Basile; Bench warrant on theft charge and probation warrant.
Melvin Martin Reed, 35, 500 block of Martin Luther King Drive, Eunice; Attempted manslaughter.
