Deficient bridges a problem in rural areas

According to 2014 Federal Highway Administration numbers, there are 32 structurally deficient bridges and 39 functionally obsolete bridges in St. Landry Parish, and the city of Eunice is home to several of these bridges.

Mosquitoes have not arrived in full force, yet

Despite getting inches of rain in the last few weeks, mosquitoes are not yet a problem in the Eunice city limits.

Fired officer reinstated

Eunice police patrolwoman Talya Fruge, who was fired a year ago, was reinstated during a Eunice Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board hearing Thursday.
“Just happy with the decision,” Fruge said after the hearing.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
