As new blue trash carts arrived, questions raised

The new blue trash carts springing up between Eunice and Opelousas, and in Opelousas, are raising concerns about the future of the trash pickup service, said Timmy Lejeune, St. Landry Parish District 11 parish councilman.

Cane River Music Festival features Louisiana traditional performers

The Cane River region has a rich tradition of live musical performance. The community was once home to numerous juke joints and dance halls, where farmworkers could enjoy an evening of live Creole music, blues, jazz or early rock and roll.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
