The following are arrests by Eunice Police.
April 25
Justice M. Larue, 19, 300 block of Corn Avenue, Eunice. Warrant for disturbing the peace.
Destiny Hanley, 23, 100 block of Prairie Drive, Eunice. Domestic abuse battery.
Two bills that have been moved to the House floor in Louisiana could put pressure on law enforcement agencies in major metropolitan areas to cooperate with federal officials when policing undocumented immigrants.
A 15-year-old Eunice Junior High School student was arrested Monday on charges stemming from a Dec. 10, 2015 bomb threat at the school.
Pierre Martel, a U.S. history teacher at Eunice High School, is the parish’s top high school teacher. Ten years ago Martel was recovering from a liver transplant and in July his colon was removed. Martel has emerged with an inspiring story about life. (Photo by Harlan Kirgan)

April 22
Tyler Blaze Murphy, 19, 500 block of Pearl, Eunice. Warrants on six counts of trespassing.
Ryan Le, 28, 200 block of North CC Duson, Eunice. Obstructing a public passage, no driver’s license and drug paraphernalia.
Opelousas Little Theatre “The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee”
The Opelousas Little Theatre will present the witty and humorous show “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.

Legendary St. Landry Parish Sheriff Daley J. “Cat” Doucet was one of the dignitaries who greeted French President Charles deGaulle when he visited Louisiana at the end of April 1960, and had some complimentary things to say about him, Afterwards, for example, Doucet, told the press, “His French isn’t too bad.”

Three Eunice High School students were named to 21st annual Louisiana All-Star Marching Band at LSU in Baton Rouge. There were Jason Thibodeaux, Christina Melder and John David Benoit. They were nominated by James Boyne Jr., band director.
The Eunice Knights of Columbus Council 1745 honored members with 50 or more years of service. They were Raymond Aguillard, Emmett Bordelon, Henry Broussard, Charles M. Guillory, Herbert M. Guillory, I.J. Guillory, J. Dudley Guillory, Ivan Miller, Elmo Montz, Harold Reed, L.M. Reed, and Rouseb Soileau.
