Referring to campaign promises he made to Acadia Parish voters, Sheriff-elect K.P. Gibson told members of the Rayne Rotary Club recently of his goal of increasing the number of deputies on patrol and a more aggressive stance on illegal drugs.

For years, Randy Miller of Eunice, said that when he retired from teaching, he was going to volunteer his time with mission work.

Parish Council to have 6 new members this year

After 23 years serving, first as a police juror then as a parish councilman, Gary Courville, 68, is leaving an elected job he first won in what he calls a surprising election.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
